A Spot To Eat
With the surge of fitness enthusiasts the country has seen over the years, the SM Mall of Asia complex and its wide open spaces have become one of the go-to spots for urban dwellers looking to get their endorphin fix. But while the Mall of Asia is inundated with dining options that provide fitness aficionados a wealth of choices for reloading, no establishment has the fitness mindset at its core. That is, until Bikers’ Café came along.
“One of the owners, Raymund Magdaluyo, is a triathlete. He saw an interest from the people training here at MOA to have a place where they can not only dine and hangout after training, but have a place to freshen up and shower as well,” says Audrey Banag, Bikers’ Café marketing manager. The café, she says, offers a free shower service to customers who purchase food or drink, along with the opportunity to wash their bikes.
Bikers’ Café helps bikers and other sports buffs save time. Instead of going home, it allows people to freshen up in the café before heading to work. More importantly, Biker’s Café opens at 5 a.m. to cater to the early training needs of fitness enthusiasts.
Four of the café’s best sellers include their selection of Breakfast of Champions—Duathlon (crispy bacon strips, corned beef, egg, and a loaf of bread); Aquathlon (breaded bangus belly, longganisa, egg, and garlic rice); Triathlon (breaded bangus belly, beef tapa, adobo flakes, and garlic rice); and Peloton (crispy bacon strips, Hungarian sausage, corned beef, and a loaf of bread).
Bikers’ Café also has a selection of salads, pasta, American comfort food, pancakes and waffles, as well as a slew of drinks from hot and iced coffee to frappes, coolers, and smoothies that all promise to hit the spot.
Magdaluyo’s years spent in the restaurant industry bring a culinary pedigree to the café that goes beyond the convenience of opening early than most cafes and letting people get a quick shower. His personal passion for the fitness lifestyle lends an understanding of what ambience fitness fans want for post workout relaxation. Ride a bike and take a bite at Bikers’ Café.
