Trimac Coaching Aims to Hone Filipino Triathletes
One of the country’s top triathlon coaches, Jojo Macalintal spoke of how Trimac Coaching can help people maintain a healthier lifestyle through triathlon during the press launch in Earth Kitchen, BGC, Taguig City, March 11.
“We aim for the Triathlon sport be accessible to everyone,” said Coach Jomac, as what he is widely known. As head coach of one of the most dynamic triathlon groups in the community, the Trimac Triathlon team, he mentioned that Trimac Coaching Educational System will be launched to yield Olympic-grade Filipino triathletes in the future.
Coach Jomac founded the program as a way to share his experience as a certified International Triathlon Union (ITU) Level 2 Coach, as a certified Level 1 Spinning Instructor, and as a certified trainer for TRX Suspension Training System.
The platform focuses on improving students’ skills in swimming, cycling, and running. Interested elite athletes and physically fit beginners are all welcome to join separately. There will be a three-month program for each curriculum based on every athlete’s beginner, intermediate, and advance fitness level.
The swimming program will be held in the Amoranto Sports Complex pool, the cycling program at trails located in Subic, Neapolitan, and Sierra Madre, and the running program in UP Diliman, Quezon City. The official induction will be on April 4, 2016.
Among the attendees during the press launch were various bloggers, media representatives, the current members of the Trimac team, and Trimac Coaching’s partners and sponsors, Apotheca, Brooks, Earth Kitchen, GU Energy Gels, Klean Kanteen, Maxima Meat, Spyder, ToeSox, TYR Sport, Unilab Active Health, and Without Limits Philippines.
Members of the team gave brief testimonies on how triathlon helped them achieve good health and, in the long run, a better lifestyle. Philip Santos, Trimac member also noted of how anyone can be a triathlete, “All kinds of people! All you need is the best triathlon coach and a competitive platform.”
